More LFHQ updating…

Once again we’ve been tinkering with the theming on the forum skin to try to get it linked in to the entire site a bit better. And this time it looks like it’s finally all sorted correctly – a huge thank you to Lirodon who’s been doing all of that heavy lifting for me. It may look simple (and finding the initial theme was), getting everything else to work properly menu wise was a huge PITA. Now we just need to get the images/icons updated from stock, but that’s a comparatively minor/easy process :)

Detroit Invitational coming up

This one’s come in slightly under the radar as I’ve been busy with other things, so I apologize for not publicizing it sooner.

Detroit is hosting the 2nd East Coast Tournament, calling it the Detroit Invitational this time around. Dates are set for March 15-17, $50/person, 6 person teams with events including Space Marines 5 and D&D. Please visit this thread for further information.

I’m looking forward to seeing if Syracuse can defend their 1st ECT title in Detroit’s maze, and even more looking forward to see if Detroit performs better in their own maze this time around than they did during 2009 nationals.

Best of luck to all.

More new sites coming? Yes, yes there are.

In addition to a new Laserforce site in Hawaii that just opened up in December, there are several more on the immediate horizon opening in Canada and Missouri. As soon as I have more information [little things like... specific locations, websites etc], I’ll get those posted up. It’s just really great to see that even amidst a relatively down economy, Laserforce is still out there making sales and opening up new sites.

More details as soon as I get them. :)

WCT2 Finished…

So it finished a few days ago and I’m just now updating this.

My excuse is I spent a couple of days in Vegas with my wife afterward.

Pretty good excuse I think :)

This was definitely the most competitive tournament in the US ever, with the surprise of the tournament (for me at least) was the improvement that Chula Vista showed between last WCT and this one. Last tourney, they were unable to manage a single point and were thoroughly demolished in all their games. This tournament, it was evident that they took the lessons learned last year and practiced hard to ensure that things went better.

Hats off to both St George teams though, who were practicing multiple days a week in the months leading up to WCT2 to ensure that they were as prepared as possible. It paid off, with their teams taking 1st and 2nd.

And respect to the hybrid team, who showed definite improvement as the weekend went on as far as playing together.

Next stop – US Nationals.

WCT 2 in… 2 days?

I’m not quite sure where the time has gone, but the next US tournament is now upon us.

Keep watching the forums and Twitter (user name: Laserforce) for updates as everything progresses.

Good luck to everyone who’s making the trip.

WordPress 2.9 update

Hi, its Lirodon, the person who designed and implemented a lot of the new LaserforceHQ (design and coding mainly). Just to note, the site has been upgraded to WordPress 2.9. If you experience any bugs, please don’t hesitate to inform us.
