| It’s been a bit thin lately on the updates, not from a lack of things happening within the LF world, but from a lack of time on my part. Real life gets in the way ENTIRELY too much I’ve decided |

| The 2008 AU/NZ Nationals have been and gone, and the team that’s come away with the win was a bit of a surprise. Going into the tournament, most people had Oakleigh A as the favorites to win and hold on to their Nationals crown. However, in the end it was Auckland A who surprised a lot of people (even themselves truth be told) by taking the grand final 3 games to 1. It was a fantastic week with minimal complaining and bitching and people playing in the spirit of the rules. A massive thank you goes out to Ballarat’s owner, Brendan, who was there the entire week and made sure that we were taken care of. As opposed to some prior nationals at other centers, there was no attempting to sneak bookings in during the day or anything of that nature – he let us have the time we’d agreed on. Also – a thank you to Mildura for coming down even though they’d only been open for 4 months. They may have gotten smashed, but they had a good time, learned lots, and seemed very keen to make things happen for the future. TEAM RESULTS INDIVIDUAL AWARDS ANZAC Team |

| Welcome to LaserforceHQ.com. With any luck, this site will end up being more stable than the last one – I still don’t know why the php includes decided to not work on some pages while working just fine on others. If you find anything that isn’t working properly, please let me know. Updates:

Ok.
Things keep breaking.
It’s REALLY irritating.
So does anyone who actually knows how to code want to assist (read: do all the work with credit) in rebuilding this site?
-xThanatoSx
April 7th, 2008
Due to an upgrade made by my webhost, the forums are currently broken.
You can get to them, you can search what’s there, but you can’t actually post anything new or reply to anything existing.
I’m getting some tech support for it currently – with any luck we’ll be back up and running soon.
I apologize for the inconvenience.

March 29th, 2008
It’s been a while since the last update, but that just means there should be a fair amount of content in this one.
1. Congrats to Bloomington who won the 1st inter-site tournament in the US since 2004. Hosted by the new Waukesha Laserforce, it was a one day SM4 tournament that attracted a team from Caseyville (who came 2nd) as well. There were some minor niggles, but overall it sounds like everyone had a good time. Here’s hoping this is just the start of what will hopefully be a vibrant US tournament scene.
2. There are tons of new sites opening in the US shortly. There was a site in Kansas being installed this week (I don’t have more details than that at this point), one in Colorado in the next few weeks, & a site due to open in Virginia in May. There are a few others in the works as well – as soon as I have full confirmation of those, I’ll let everyone know.
3. Forum archives are temporarily off-line. I’m hoping they won’t be gone for too long, but there are some issues that need to be resolved.
4. There’s a new URL for this website – www.LaserforceHQ.com. You don’t need to change any of your existing bookmarks, however you will need to continue to access the forum via the link LFBoards.com/forum as for some reason using LaserforceHQ.com/forum takes you to a version of the forum from several weeks ago. Very strange, but there go. One more thing to figure out. Also – a thanks to Klepto for suggesting the name – had he not mentioned it, I probably wouldn’t have registered it.
-xThanatoSx
January 8th, 2008 Happy holidays – a bit late, but better late than never.
Updates/New Stuff:
1. Forums have been reset. Actually, they were reset a few weeks ago, but I was on vacation right after I did it. Please drop by and re-register if you haven’t done so already.
2. Another new Laserforce has opened.
Evidently this one has been in the works for a while, but kepy having zoning/council issues. Those have been sorted, so now there’s another 40+ pack site open in the US. This is not a bad thing.
3. Links page has been updated. If anyone knows of any Laserforce websites (official or unofficial) that I don’t have listed, please let me know.
4. Dates for this years Nationals should be released after January 15th. We have to wait for the Ballarat owner to get his racing schedule before we know if we’ll be playing the last week of July or the first week of August. As soon as those details are known, they will be posted to the tournament forum.

December 5th, 2007
Another possible forum reset.
Yes, you read that correctly.
And it’s more of a certainty than a possibility, I’m just letting you all know it is going to happen.
The reason for it is that unfortunately when I redid the forums the last time, I used a Beta release of the phpbb software. At the time, it was thought on the phpbb help forums that they were going to support conversion from Beta to the Release Clients and then to the Gold (full release) version of the software.
This has turned out not to be the case. Due to some of the changes that have been made from Beta to Release Client, upgrading from Beta boards isn’t supported and using the conversion tool that comes with phpBB3 now isn’t recommended.
The downside – it means the 3rd post count reset for everyone involved.
The upside – none of the information is going to be lost, as these boards will go into an “Archive” mode like the prior version. Also, I should actually be able to alter the damn color scheme from the default – I really detest the default theme.
So yeah – just a heads-up for everyone involved. I know it’s irritating – believe me, as irritating as it is for you guys, it’s far more irritating for me.

Updates:
As mentioned in the update below, there’re more LF’s opening in the US. Thanks to Scrapz for giving us the heads up.
Also, the Ballarat, VIC, AU site profile now includes a map of their arena. Thanks to Snake from Balla for drawing it out.
Thanks

October 18th, 2007
Updates:
Yes, you’re reading this right. Another new US site. This does not suck.
The news gets better, as apparently there are 2 more new installations scheduled for November/December as well as an upgrade for an existing Gen 5 site.
Thanks
-xThanatoSx
October 14th, 2007
Updates:
1. Yet another new site in the US. Laserforce gear has just replaced the existing Zone gear that they had been using, and from what I’ve been told they’re HIGHLY impressed.
2. Updated the tournament page with results from the nationals just past in Oakleigh as well as much as I could remember from years prior. I know there’s things missing – if people can either PM me or e-mail me with details I’ve missed, that would be fantastic.
-xThanatoSx
August 1st, 2007
A large yet subtle update today. Large because it took a fair amount of time, subtle because it’s in an area that doesn’t normally get a huge amount of traffic. Say hello to 4 new site listings for Laserforce in the US.
-xThanatoSx
July 28th, 2007
Congrats to Oakleigh A on their win at this years nationals.
More details will be found in the forums.
-xThanatoSx
April 21st, 2007
New forums are live as of about 4 days ago.
They’re still a work in progress as I’m using a beta release of phpBB3 which isn’t actually intended to be used in a live situation.
Any issues, please let me know.
Yes, you will need to re-register.
-xThanatoSx
March 28th, 2007
About 3 weeks ago I sent out an e-mail saying that the forums were in the process of being upgraded and should be live in about a week.
Obviously, this didn’t happen.
There were a few reasons for this – chief among them phpbb.com had a massive crash. As this is where I was sourcing the forum software and all the mods that I needed, it put a bit of a crimp in things. Also a factor is that when the boards were originally set up, Amaprotu did a TON of custom work in order to get the sidebar menus to display no matter where in the forums you were. Looks simple, really isn’t.
Long come short – it’s taking longer than I thought it was going to. It’s still going to happen, we’re still going to lose our post counts, and the old forums will remain on the site for archival purposes.
I do appreciate everyones patience
-xThanatoSx
Update January 24th, 2007
You many have noticed the banner ads at the top and bottom of the page for Halfpast clothing.
They’re a New Zealand clothing label co-founded by Auckland’s own Stephen Gardner (GuyNextDoor). I highly recommend checking out their website – they do quality gear, and I’m sure wouldn’t be adverse to shipping stuff overseas for all of our non-NZ readers.
So like I said – check them out – their online shop should be up and running in the next week (or so they tell me)
-xThanatoSx
Update January 20th, 2007
More news on the Gen-6 front:
1. Ballarat, VIC AU has upgraded to Gen6 as of about 2 weeks ago.
2. There’s a new Gen6 site to be installed in Tacoma, WA USA in the next two weeks. New to LF at any rate, evidently they’re swapping from another system.
It’s encouraging to see so many new sites being added and existing sites upgrading – here’s hoping that 2007 continues to bring news like this throughout the year.
In other news, 2007 Nationals is going to be held in Oakleigh, AU. For more details, please visit the nationals forum. Dates, times, and cost are still TBA.

Update December 19th, 2006
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, etc. so forth and so on
-xThanatoSx
Update November 22nd, 2006
Well, well, well.
In quite possibly the best news I’ve heard out of the US related to Laserforce in quite some time – not only are there 2 more Gen6 sites being installed in the next 2 weeks (Laserforce Texas in Sugarland is getting a 40 pack Gen6 upgrade, and a 50 pack facility in Baton Rouge, Lousiana is changing over to Laserforce).
But that isn’t the best news believe it or not. The best news is that there’s a new distribution team handling the North American market, and one of the main components of that team is someone who used to be involved heavily with the Sacramento Laserforce, Sean Lively (Yama). Knowing Sean, I have a feeling we’re going to see the North American market more active for Laserforce than we have in quite some time.

Update October 15th, 2006
Today’s Updates:
1. Site list updated. Thanks to Len Kelly for providing the required information.
2. Final stats for LF Sacramento posted. Something I should have finished a while ago, but hey, it’s done now.
3. Some nationals pictures added. No, not all of them. Deal.
Next Project: Getting the nationals page sorted out properly with past results etc. Hopefully I get that one taken care of quicker than some of my last projects.
-xThanatoSx
Update August 16th, 2006
Nationals Stats are now up.
In other news, it looks like Gen6 and the new software is more than just vapourware, with several new sales and installations having just recently happened. Scrapz was in Florida just before Nationals doing an install, and it appears new sites are going to be opening (if they haven’t already) in Ireland, Hungray, and Sweden. Keep those fingers crossed boys and girls – maybe we’ll actually get that huge international SM5 tournament we’ve always wanted.
-xThanatoSx
Update July 31st, 2006

Update June 18th, 2005
The 2005 Internationals are fast approaching – if you’re planning on coming, please let us know in the Internationals forum. Details on the tournament can be found either in the Tournament section of the site or in the afformentioned Internationals forum.
It looks like LF Corporate is making a move to try to regain lost market share – they’ve booked space at this years IAAPA show in Atlanta, Georgia USA. For those of you who don’t know what IAAPA is, it’s a major Amusement and Entertainment conference/exhibition for manufacturers and suppliers. Here’s hoping that goes well and that the net result is a few more Laserforce’s opening.
-xThanatoSx
Update January 28th, 2005
Yes, again along time between updates. Funny how real life does that to you.
There’s some new player profiles up, some updated stats for Auckland, and some minor updates to the active Laserforce sites.
As always, drop by forum for the most up to date information on everything.

-xThanatoSx
Update October 1st, 2004 Yes. An update.
I know – you’re all completely shocked
Check the Tournament section for new tourney info, then check the forums for even more.
Check the stats section for a brand new section with stats from the Auckland, NZ members nights
The Tournament page has the info on it, but it’s not very cool looking at all. When I have more time, that’ll be worked on too.
-xThanatoSx
Update August 20, 2004
I apologize for the lack of work done to the site lately. Both Amaprotu and I have been swamped with real life stuff, so this has taken a back seat for now. There are some updates in the works – most notably getting the Nationals section up to date and adding the pictures from the 2004 Internationals to the site.
Thanks to everyone for your patience.

Update July 10, 2004
Nationals is right around the corner, so the Nationals section of the website will be getting a facelift in the next couple of days. The plan is to have all the scores and stats uploaded daily so everyone around the world can see how the tournament is progressing. Hopefully I’ll be able to keep to that promise *crosses fingers*.
-xThanatoSx
Update May 28, 2004
Various updates over the past several weeks, including a bunch of pictures from the Wellington/Auckland invasion of Napier, the Beginners Guide to the Special Abilities, and proof positive that some people have more time on their hands than I do.
-xThanatoSx
Update 5/7/2004
Massive addition to the downloads section – what might be the largest mainstream media exposure Laserforce has ever gotten. And it got it in… New Zealand? Head on over and check it out!
-xThanatoSx
Update 4/27/2004
More pictures have been added. Check them out on the pictures page.
Many thanks to ~!Super Mutt!~ for taking pictures nearly everywhere she’s gone Laserforce related since 1996(!).

Update 4/22/2004
Pictures from LF Brisbane’s 16th birthday party can be found HERE!
-xThanatoSx
Update 4/1/2004
Hm. If we were cool and trendy we’d have some funny April Fools joke up here.
We’re not that cool or trendy.
The only real update of note over the last several days is me getting pics from the 2003 AU/NZ Nats online. Click the Pics link in the menu bar to check those out.
If anyone else has more pics from other tournaments, please get in contact with me so we can get those posted up here as well.
-xThanatoSx
Update 3/25/2004
(*smacks Thana for not owning a single piece of photo editing software or being able to find one on download.com while I was in Hawaii.*)
- Amaprotu
Update 3/22/2004
Where to start with today’s update…
1) More site profiles are online
2) More player profiles are online If yours isn’t up, stop being lazy and send it to me at xThanatoSx@lfboards.com.
3) The pictures page is starting to be populated As soon as I’m able to resize the jpg’s for the menu bar (*smacks Ama for making them the wrong size*), it’ll have a menu bar. Until then, use the link above. If you have pictures from a Nationals, League, Tourney, or any other sort of LF event – contact me so we can get them hosted.
-xThanatoSx
Update 3/16/2004
The Player and Site profiles sections are now online. If you would like your player profile to be put on the website, please e-mail me the information from this list. Feel free to add your own categories.
-xThanatoSx
Update 3/15/2004
No, we haven’t forgotten about the main content areas of the boards. Real life has merely been taking more and more time lately for both Amaprotu and me.
The site list is now up. The next step is slowly adding profile pages for every site. Please visit the Sites page and let me know what you think.
- xThanatoSx
Update 2/19/2004
A few more things:
1. Please note the new Rules section on the sidebar menu. This contains all of the Laserforce League/Tournament rules. Look, download, then go discuss on the message board.
2. Sacred has the 1st LF-3D demo posted – grab it Here!! You will need the DIVX codec to view the demo – grab it at divx.com if it’s not already installed on your system.
If you haven’t already registered for the forums, now would be a great time to do so.
- xThanatoSx
Update 2/16/2004
New Buttons / New Content / Player Profiles
I made some new buttons for the site. I am on a fast connection though, so let me know if the download times are a problem. I also got some new forum icons from rattle which I will take a shot of getting up later. Then we can vote.
We also have some LF-3D stuff going up now, courtesy of Sacred, which is great. Check it out. Its a really cool project we are glad to support.
I will shortly be posting a poll in the Website Features/Issues about the player profiles. Namely whether we want a seperate entity, or something integrated into the forum profiles. Keep your eyes open. Also if you have any ideas or comments about the site, its design or content, please let us know either in that forum or via private message.
- Amaprotu
Update 2/15/2004
Just a few things:
1. Continuing to clean up the html files of the game descriptions. Suffice it to say this is tedious – But it’s almost done. After the normal games are done, I’ll start creating the game documents for the custom games.
2. I just figured out how to do the stats pages in .php so they match the rest of the site – without using Microsoft products to screw up the html. Thanks to Draco (Auckland) for suggesting OpenOffice as a possible solution for my text to .html problems – it works quite well.
3. Should be some LF-3D stuff happening soon – keep watching this space.
- xThanatoSx
Update 2/9/2004
Very funny.
The game descriptions and stats menus are done, along with the rules. I’m still debating whether to format the actual stats .txt files like everything else – but that’s a decision for another day.
Things that are going to be worked on over the next few days:
- Cleaning up the code in the game documents html *reminds self never to use Front Page again*
- Getting Brisbane C-Grade stats posted – Thank you to Flamedrake for getting those to me
- Getting custom game files online.
Again – We appreciate your patience and support as we continue to work on this site. The positive feedback we’ve been getting is fantastic.
- xThanatoSx
Update 2/8/2004
Welcome to the new look!
I got some decent php going so that the look should be consistant. Yay. ![]()
Tasks remaining:
- Teach Thanatos to do HTML
- Teach Thanatos to NOT USE FRONTPAGE
- Teach Thanatos to use CSS tags
- Teach Thanatos to NOT USE FRONTPAGE
- Make some buttons
- Teach Thanatos to NOT USE FRONTPAGE
- Make a new menu
- Teach Thanatos to NOT USE FRONTPAGE
I can already tell you what is going to be the hardest.
- Amaprotu
*Update – February 4th, 2004
- Yes, the page is still n00bish. Amaprotu is working on a page that doesn’t suck right now.
- The forum link will once again spawn a new window when that link is clicked. Once the proper front page and forum set-up are completed, it won’t. We appreciate your patience as we iron out the bugs with everything.
*Update February 2nd, 2004
- Ok, yes, I realize this page looks n00bish. I’m a n00b – sue me. This is intended as a temporary solution until we do something better.
*Update Jan 28, 04
- Game documentation for factory-issue LF Missions are now online. They can be found from the menu bar on the left hand side of the screen.
- Stats for current Brisbane B-Grade and Sacramento members nights are online. If you would like your sites stats to be posted, please e-mail me at xThanatoSx@lfboards.com.
*Update Jan 27, 04:
- Yes, it’s been a week and the new site isn’t online yet – this is what happens when your design team has computers that go splat. We’ve got the framework, now we just have to flesh it out.
- Slowly working getting all the behind-the-scenes stuff ironed out – we appreciate everyone’s patience while we’re doing this.
*Updates Jan 20, 04:
- New site design is in the creation stage – it should be online within the next week. Many thanks to the people who are working on it – they know who they are.
- Please make sure your bookmarks are set to http://lfboards.com – No www in the address. Otherwise it just messes with the cookies and staying logged in can be a hassle.
